Rutherglen Clinic

JMC Physiocures Rutherglen is based on the roof of the Mitchell Arcade where you access the clinic from the car park, we have worked from this location since 2007. We have three physiotherapists working from this clinic and offer appointments from Monday to Friday with some evening availability. There is on site parking and disabled parking for a small fee of 50 pence for 2 hours, the clinic is easily accessible with public transport with the nearest bus stop being a few minutes walk with the train station being a 5-10 minute walk.

Jamie McCahill

Jamie is one of the senior Physiotherapists with JMC Physiocures. He qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2002 and since then has worked in a variety of fields with NHS Greater Glasgow, NHS Lanarkshire and in private practice. Jamie has also worked with DWP, local Government, with Pro-youth football at Celtic and at a number of other sports clubs building a wealth of experience. Jamie’s jobs have encompassed acute hospital work, community rehab, paediatric musculosketal services, occupational health and Sports.

Jamie has a special interest in Occupational Health and the health benefits of work. He carries out workplace visits providing information on manual handling, pain management at work and DSE/workstation assessments. He has been working in private practice since 2008 merging JMC Physiotherapy with Physiocures in 2014.

In his spare time Jamie enjoys running, football and spending time with his two young children Luke and Lucy.

Lisa Brown

Graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Anatomy from Glasgow University in 2009, Lisa continued her studies in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, graduating in 2012. Lisa’s career has focused on Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and she has gained invaluable experience within the NHS, private sector and sports clubs including St Mirren FC.

Lisa’s clinical interests include sports rehabilitation, pre-habilitation and the management of orthopaedic conditions. Always keen to continue learning and studying, Lisa has recently completed the APPI Pilates Matwork 1 course and will complete Level 2 in the New Year, with a view to teaching classes and 1:1 sessions at JMC Physiocures.

Away from work, Lisa enjoys cycling and has recently completed the Pedal for Scotland Classic challenge. She is a keen indoor climber, enjoys a good movie and can often be found cheering on the Braehead Clan ice hockey team.

Karen Mullen

Karen qualified from the MSc Rehab sciences programme in 2007, previously completing a BSc hons in Sports therapy in 2005.

Since qualifying Karen has built up extensive experience working within NHS Glasgow and Lanarkshire in a variety of rotations including orthopaedics and neurology and for the past 6 years has worked in both the NHS and private sector excelling in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

Karen currently works within NHS Lanarkshire as a senior physiotherapist managing a busy and demanding clinical caseload as well as departmental management duties and providing clinical expertise to both junior staff and students.

Karen combines her expert skills in MSK management with occupational health physiotherapy to achieve an excellent standard service and specialises in the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions such as low back pain, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, whiplash and sports injuries.

Karen is based at out Hamilton and Rutherglen clinics and in her spare time as well as being a mum to twin girls and enjoys attending classes at the gym including yoga.
