Clinical Pilates
What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates is a form of physical exercise that focuses on posture, core stability, balance, control, strength, flexibility and breathing. It was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century and has since become very popular throughout the world.
Who can benefit?
Clinical Pilates is now commonly used in conjunction with physiotherapy as a means to treating a variety of injuries but more specifically for spinal patients with back and neck pain. This is based on strong evidence that demonstrates that the use of therapeutic exercise is beneficial in the management of low back pain, as Clinical Pilates focuses on the retraining and recruitment of our deep stabilising muscles (core stability).
Clinical Pilates can be effective whether you are trying to recover from spinal surgery, improving your core stability to help a chronic groin strain or attempting to avoid injury whilst training for an upcoming event.

Is Pilates right for me?
Pilates can be tailored for each person’s individual needs and we offer group classes as well as private 1 to 1 sessions for those feeling a little unsure about attending a class to help them gain some confidence and hopefully then allow them to attend a group class when ready.
If you are interested in attending Clinical Pilates to help with your injury or would like further information regarding the concept of Pilates then please contact the clinic on 0333 355 0606 or via email
